How late is the Edge of Extinction person going to enter the game? Kind of feels like they won't even get a chance to play the game proper if they're entering at F4/F5.

Yeah I don't especially love the EoE design bringing someone back so late, because it really does feel like it's just introducing a goat into the endgame at that point. If Snowy Owl or Sloth or Hedgehog returned, what would they even talk about at FTC? Nothing much seems to be happening on the Edge.
I think this is just a problem I have with any returnee mechanic in the post-merge, though. I'm not principally opposed to a returnee winning, but I prefer it when they return at the merge and still play a full game. When you enter the game at F5, what can you even do at that point? Those votes aren't about allainces, they are about mutual benefit, and you had no role in shaping the people who are there, so you didn't really control who needed who at that point. If people turned out to need you, that isn't exactly your doing.
I think I just hate Edge generally. And returnee twists. Can we retire them please? We've had a lot of them in recent games and nothing satisfying or interesting has come of them.

I guess Grogu and Mipha were kind of interesting, but Grogu was hardly a returnee and there were so many returnees that game that it was almost inevitable that some of them would matter. And Mipha...almost won I guess.

"If you don't count the two recent examples of something satisfying or interesting happening, then nothing satisfying or interesting ever happens!"
EDIT: Rey went from first boot to near winner.

We've had a lot of them in recent games and nothing satisfying or interesting has come of them. grogu is pretty much the only returnee example in recent memory where the player coming back improved the quality of the season as a whole. not to diss anyone else or anything but i really don't think returnees have a noticeable impact unless the player behind them is very skilled (which reck is), and if they are skilled then it's unlikely that they get sent out in the first place. grogu only went because the droids won immunity that round and he wasn't even the first target. i guess returnees are okay if you limit it to one and put them through hell and back, but even then there's no guarantee they'll be anything other than a goat.

EDIT: Rey went from first boot to near winner. to be honest if she had gone up against grogu or anyone else in the merge besides cleric she would have lost by a bigger margin. also, she still missed multiple challenges and was relatively inactive.

the other two i can think of that had it in recent memory were killing school semester and civilization, and nothing came from those either.

well, still, in the last cases of cool stuff with returnees happening, they had time to do said stuff at least, like now, how is a person who was away for half the game even theoretically able to win?
